Lauren Timney

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

Hello, my name is Lauren Timney. I am one of the Co-Founders of Discovery Counseling Services. During your time of need, I would love to help and inspire you towards your recovery.

I achieved my Bachelor and Master of Science Degrees in Psychology with University of Phoenix. I am currently enrolled and actively pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Research of Human Behavior at Capella University.

As a Mental Health Counselor, I have many years of clinical and private practice experience with children and adults. I counsel individuals and groups to promote optimum mental and emotional health. I enjoy helping individuals and groups develop a personal and/or developmental plan to implement positive influences in their life, while evaluating broad or specific issues such as: addictions, substance abuse, family dynamics, parenting, marital problems, stress management, self-esteem, aging, as well as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

My goal as your counselor is to provide you and/or family members with the best quality and most comforting service I can provide. My partner and I expanded our practice from Jacksonville to Merritt Island in order to provide the Space Coast access to quality mental health care and counseling services, while also being located near military installations.  As a former Spouse of 16 years to a Navy veteran, one of my passions is to help counsel service members and their families during the trying times of active-duty service as well as recovery after military service.

I look forward to meeting you and envision that your time spent at Discovery Counseling Services LLC will be a healthy and productive experience towards accomplishing your life's goals.
